FAQ

Questions, answered straight.

The things business owners actually ask us before signing. If yours isn't here, call — a human answers.

What exactly does "managed IT services" mean?

You outsource your business technology to us for one fixed monthly fee, per user. We monitor, maintain, secure, and support your computers, network, and cloud — acting as your IT department without the cost of hiring one in-house. The fee is flat and predictable; the incentive is for us to prevent problems rather than bill hours for them, because we earn the same whether your systems break or not.

Is my company too small for managed services?

Not likely. Most of our clients sit between 5 and 100 employees — big enough that downtime and data loss genuinely hurt, small enough that a full in-house IT department doesn't make sense. If you depend on computers, email, or a network to open the doors each morning, managed IT is worth a serious look. Below 5 users, we'll normally suggest the parts worth buying (backups, MFA, a support arrangement) rather than a full plan.

How does pricing work?

Our managed plans publish straight rates: $59/user/month (Core) and $99/user/month (Complete), with support, monitoring, patching, backups, and management all inside the plan. A one-time $500 onboarding covers the assessment and stabilization sweep for offices up to 25 users. Project work (office moves, migrations, major upgrades) is quoted separately in writing before any work begins, and hardware is passed through without markups. Most 10-15 user offices end up between $590 and $990/month all-in — you'll see your exact number before you commit to anything.

Will you come onsite when needed?

Yes — that's a defining difference of a local provider. Most issues resolve remotely within minutes, but hardware installs, cabling, network work, and anything with hands required gets an onsite visit across Windsor-Essex. Under the Complete plan onsite visits are included; under Core they're billed per visit.

We already have "an IT guy." Can you work with them?

Often yes, and it's a common starting point. We can run monitoring, backups, and security behind the scenes while your existing person keeps the day-to-day relationship — or take over entirely as a clean handover. What we won't do is create three-way confusion about who's responsible for what: scope is agreed in writing at the start so nothing falls between the cracks.

What happens when something breaks after hours?

Under both plans, monitoring keeps watching around the clock and critical alerts reach us wherever we are — servers down and backup failures don't wait for morning. Complete-plan clients add live 24/7 emergency response for anything that genuinely can't wait. Core plan emergencies are handled first thing next morning, which for most offices is the right balance of cost and protection.

Can you help us move to the cloud?

It's one of our most common projects. Email, file storage, and line-of-business apps move in a planned sequence: scope written first, pilot group migrated before everyone, the main cut-over done over a weekend, and two weeks of settling-in support after. See the cloud page for the full pathway — or ask for the migration outline during your assessment.

Am I locked into a long-term contract?

No. Managed plans run month-to-month. We'd rather earn your business monthly than trap it. If you leave, we hand over your documentation, credentials, and data in full — a client who leaves happy still recommends us.

How do you protect against ransomware specifically?

Layers: email filtering, managed EDR, MFA, DNS filtering, staff training, and — the part that saves you — isolated, tested backups with documented restore procedures. No single tool stops everything, and anyone selling you one "anti-ransomware box" is selling hope. The layered setup means an attack rarely gets in, dies early if it does, and — worst case — costs hours of recovery, not weeks of extortion.

What if we already have internal IT staff?

Co-managed is a standard arrangement for us: your people keep user relationships, we add 24/7 monitoring, tooling, senior expertise, and after-hours coverage they can lean on. Plenty of our clients started co-managed and adjusted the blend over time in either direction.

How quickly could we get started?

The assessment usually happens within a week of your call. Onboarding to full managed coverage typically runs two to four weeks depending on the environment's condition, following the week-by-week plan on the managed IT page. Urgent situations — say a server dying this week — get compressed timelines; we'll tell you what's realistic.

Do you sell computers and hardware?

Yes — business-grade gear at fair prices, passed through without box markups. We configure it before it reaches your team, migrate old machines properly, and handle warranty claims end-to-end. Hardware recommendations come from your lifecycle plan, not from a commission sheet — and we'll tell you when something still has two good years in it.

Do you provide tech support for home users too?

Our focus is businesses. That said, business owners' home offices and family devices are commonly looked after under managed plans as part of the package — ask during your assessment.

What areas do you serve?

Windsor, LaSalle, Amherstburg, Tecumseh, Leamington, Kingsville, and the surrounding region. We'll consider jobs slightly outside that line if the fit is right — call and ask. Being close matters: it's how we can promise next-day onsite response.
